Global Art Business Promotes Two In Americas

Christie’s, the art business and auction house, has appointed both Ellanor Notides and Capera Ryan as deputy chairman in the Americas. Notides will lead Christie's client development strategy on the West Coast, including live auctions, private sales and digital sales. She also works with the firm's museum services department. Before joining Christie's in 1982, Notides was a 19th Century European painting specialist at Sotheby's and Butterfields. She has been a senior vice president and senior director of international client and business development since 2008, based in San Francisco, where she also served as regional director. She also has experience working in Hong Kong as head of client development for southeast Asia. Meanwhile, Ryan is tasked with bringing together “art-influencers” from private, trade and institutional clients, as she focuses on client engagement and strategic development. She was most recently a senior vice president and managing director for the southwest US region, having joined Christie's in 2002 as head of the Texas office. Before that, she was a specialist in the jewelry department of Sotheby's in New York.
